It has been reported in one of the popular La La Land News Agency - Utusan (see here) that a building owned by Perbadanan Taman Negeri Perak (PTNP) has collapsed yesterday. RM4.5million was financed by the Tourism Ministryfor the first phase of the building development. BPR has quickly made a statement that they have formed a special unit to investigate the incident.
Just imagine if the building has been occupied by the agency, how many innocent victims will perish.
I have no doubt there must be some elements of corruption in the transactions. 'Untung atas angin' mentality has been spread within the government systems and activities. It is rooted deeply in a system that is so corrupted and seems uncontrollable now. The sad thing,however, as corruption is a cancer in the government system, but at the end of the day, the victims will be always the hardworking citizens and tax payers like us.
